The Phi Phi Islands lie around 45 kilometers from the mainland coast of Krabi and 48 kilometers from the island of Phuket. They are accessible by boat and there are daily passenger ferries from both Krabi, Ao Nang and Railay piers on the mainland; Saladan pier in Koh Lanta; and Rassada Pier in Phuket.

There are no roads on Koh Phi Phi and the only vehicles are bicycles and the occasional motorbike with sidecar, used to transport goods. You therefore cannot bring your car or motorbike to the island; and the ferries are for foot passengers only.

You can also fly to Phi Phi from Phuket, with the Blue Water Air seaplane. Scheduled flights leave twice daily.

All prices listed below are for one-way tickets. You will arrive at the main pier on Ton Sai beach. From here, you can walk to your hotel, or take a long-tail boat to any of the other beaches on the island of Phi Phi Don.

From Krabi Town To Koh Phi Phi

Boats leave from the new Krabi Passenger Pier on Tharua Rd - not Chao Fah pier as is stated in many out-of-date guidebooks, Lonely Planet included! Take a transit bus from the town centre (20Bht), or from Ao Nang (40Bht).

From Ao Nang/ Railay To Koh Phi Phi

Journey time 2.5 hours (includes snorkeling stop)
Boats leave from Nopparat Thara pier (free pick-up bus from Ao Nang Beach), going via Railay West beach. There is also a stop (for snorkelling only) at Koh Phai (Bamboo Island).

From Koh Lanta To Koh Phi Phi

Boats leave from Saladan Pier.

From Phuket To Koh Phi Phi
Time: 8.30, 13.00
Fare: 350 Baht
Journey time 1.5 hours.
Boats leave from Rassada Pier outside of Phuket Town. There are also several one-day tour boats leaving from here which also carry passengers to Phi Phi, price 350-500 Baht, departure around 8.30am.
